Sharon Yvonne Stone was born on the 10th of March, 1958, in Meadville, Pennsylvania, to the accountant Dorothy Lawson and tool and die maker as well as former worker in the factory Joseph William Stone II. Michael, Kelly, Patrick and Dorothy Lawson are her 3 siblings. Stone began the second grade when she was five years old. Stone was said to be gifted in the academic area. Saegertown School in Saegertown Pennsylvania was her high school. Stone graduated in 1975. She also competed at Miss Pennsylvania. Miss Pennsylvania pageant and won Miss Crawford County. Stone moved to New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt, to take on a job as models. Within a month, she was signed with Ford Modeling Agency. She soon relocated to Europe and spent a full year with her aunt in Milan as well as Paris. Stone, disillusioned at the model world in Europe took up acting in Europe. In her 20s, she starred in the film of Woody Allen "Stardust Memories," that received mixed praises.
